About the Author

Ricky Parkash FCCA is a Senior Instructor in the OneStream global education team. A qualified accountant, he worked in financial and management accounting for both the public and private sectors early in his career. He then became a development accountant, implementing SAP globally for Nestle, and taught business and finance part-time at a local college whilst authoring business and accounting books. Ricky has been a consultant and trainer for various IBM corporate performance management platforms, achieving top talent status and multiple recognition awards, and also authoring two IBM corporate performance management books. He later led the enablement team for an Anaplan partner. Ricky’s experience includes consolidation and planning projects, and he now teaches OneStream to corporations worldwide.

Nick Bolinger is a Distinguished Architect on the OneStream services team with an MBA and 15 years of experience in the corporate finance space. Joining OneStream in 2016, his entire tenure has been dedicated to designing and developing solutions for companies of all sizes and complexities. Nick is an active member in the OneStream community and has been featured on Tech Talks, Podcasts, Webinars, and publishes articles in his spare time. His goal is to help empower OneStream users everywhere to gain efficiencies and unlock their full potential with the platform.

As a Senior Field Product Manager at OneStream, Eric Hanson brings hands-on implementation experience and strategic product insight. Since joining OneStream in 2021 as a Senior Consultant, he has played a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions for some of the company’s largest and most complex customers. With a deep understanding of the platform – first as a customer and then as a consultant – Eric became a Director in 2024 and led a high-performing implementation team, known for executing some of OneStream’s most successful projects.

In 2025, Eric transitioned into the product space to help shape the future of the platform, leveraging years of field experience to inform product strategy and development. As a certified Lead Architect (OSP), he brings technical depth and a customer-first mindset to every initiative. Passionate about solving real-world challenges and driving innovation, Eric continues to bridge the gap between customer needs and product vision, ensuring OneStream evolves in ways that truly empower its users.

Chul Smith has over 25 years of accounting, finance and IT experience using, maintaining, implementing and supporting consolidation and finance systems as both client and consultant. In 2006, he moved from corporate consolidations in Minneapolis, MN, to HFM consulting in Paris, France. In 2007, he relocated to London, England where he spent the next four years consulting with a small Swedish IBM Cognos Controller consultancy. The use of Controller across Europe expanded his work experience to nine countries in multiple industries.

His 2012 United States homecoming triggered his return to HFM & FDM as a freelance consultant with projects in New York City, Montreal, and Sherbrooke, Quebec. He began working with OneStream in 2013 and a year later, was hired to join their services team. Today, he’s a Distinguished Architect within OneStream’s Strategic Customer Advisory team.

Chul holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management and a non-practicing CPA license in the state of Minnesota.
