About This Book

About the Author

I have spent over 29 years in a variety of roles in corporate accounting, financial analysis, system administration and consulting. My career has been split equally between financial system administration at companies and consulting for companies. And so, I write this book with both audiences in mind, as both are equally important. The consultant lays the framework of security that the OneStream administrator will maintain. Both audiences need to have an in-depth understanding of OneStream security to make the best decisions for their company or project.

Some days I feel like that person walking into a glass castle in Pittsburgh, in a freshly pressed suit and pantyhose (yes, pantyhose), ready to start my first post-college job. And other days I feel like the seasoned veteran that nearly 30 years working can give you. Today I have traded in pantyhose and a glass castle for yoga pants and a home office. But I am still that same person, still passionate about learning and sharing as much as I can with others.

I want to thank my life mentors along the way, from my first boss out of college who taught me everything I needed to hit the ground running, to the CFO who trusted me to lead a financial systems team, to my girlfriends (old and new) with whom I share my work tribulations and triumphs, and my husband who always encourages me to reach higher. And most importantly, my parents. They have always championed and believed in me, taught me humility, encouraged me to get an education, showed me that hard work does pay off, and unconditionally loved me. Look mom and dad, I am an author! Could you have ever imagined? I am sure you did.

About This Book

Technical Reviewers

Chul Smith. Chul has over 25 years of accounting, finance and IT experience using, maintaining, implementing and supporting consolidation and finance systems as both client and consultant. In 2006, he moved from corporate consolidations in Minneapolis, MN, to HFM consulting in Paris, France. In 2007, he relocated to London, England where he spent the next four years consulting with a small Swedish IBM Cognos Controller consultancy. The use of Controller across Europe expanded his work experience to nine countries in multiple industries.

His 2012 United States homecoming triggered his return to HFM & FDM as a freelance consultant with projects in New York City, Montreal, and Sherbrooke, Quebec. He began working with OneStream in 2013 and a year later, was hired to join their services team. Today, he’s a Distinguished Architect within OneStream’s Strategic Customer Advisory team.

Chul holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management and a non-practicing CPA license in the state of Minnesota.

Tony Dimitrie. Tony joined OneStream Software in January 2012 as employee #10. Tony dedicated his first year to OneStream’s first customer and did whatever was needed in order to make the partnership a success. This soon transitioned into being a Subject Matter Expert for customer implementations led by partners. Tony started the Implementation Support department, which can be identified as Remote Consulting Support (RCS) today. Tony has a wealth of OneStream product and organizational knowledge, which helps serve Tony in his current role as Vice President of Training & RCS.
